Two Canadian-headquartered engineering consulting companies, WSP Global and Stantec, have over the past several years aggressively acquired numerous smaller and mid-sized organizations leading to what one hopes are stronger organizations able to compete on a global scale. Their size is now closing on SNC Lavalin; hampered by other priorities. White & Partners compares their strategy with three similar organizations, Jacobs Engineering Group and AECOM based in the U.S. and AMEC Foster-Wheeler based in the U.K. Our view is that Stantec and Jacobs Engineering Group represent the best opportunities for development.
